Went to the Botanic Gardens for a picnic-not too much walking around this time!
At the small hill by the pond, there are quite a few people spending time with their friends, books or having a nap! Good thing is, even though we went on Sunday afternoon, it was not crowded at all - perhaps most of the people were elsewhere, at the better place we did not find (?)
This time, I did not go to the Orchid Garden, but dropped by the....

Singapore National Orchid Garden
The National Orchid Garden is located within the Botanic Gardens, and it is a very nice place to walk around-just make sure you have enough time.
Entrance costs $5 or $1 for students/senior citizens, and is free for children. Hybrids, bred here, are on display. I found funny how 'photo spots' are carefully indicated, so that you will not wander around, wondering where it would be nice to take a picture. The National Orchid Gardens have sorted this out for you!
There is a VIP section, where orchids bred here have been named after people who have visited the gardens.

Singapore Botanic Gardens
Singapore botanic gardens is not far from busy-busy-busy Orchard Road. And it is actually where all the orchids have gone hiding...
The gardens are open to all to walk around, chase the iguanas (not), have a pic-nic, or simply a nap.
Obviously lots of trees and plants to see, but also the fauna that goes along with the flora - incredibly big fish wearing moustaches, swans, turtles and also... monster-like iguanas (bit shy of the camera) and squirrels.
I will definitely be back, hopefully for one of the concerts that are being held here.
